object desktop vs rainmeter??

As the title states, for tricking out your Windows environment, which software do you recommend and why?

Looking @ Object Desktop, but rain-meter is also free!! However I think the overall end product from object desktop is much better...
 
None, I stopped using these ages ago, no longer really required in the way they once were. Performance info is on my G19 gamepanel screen and pulled from Aida 64 but my desktop etc is back to window basic.

Always used Rainmeter back in the XP days though.
 
If you don't own a fancy LCD screen keyboard then Rainmeter is a decent option for getting various bits of info drawn onto the desktop, or for more comprehensive overhauling of the desktop...
 
exactly, it's more just to give my computer a new look, aero is ok but with simple color change it's pretty basic as far as customization goes, rain meter seems to me like a glorified sidebar gadgets. I'm looking to change cursors, icons add maybe a dock, I already uses fences as it is superb for arranging desktops and icons, and would be nice to theme the windows.
