Oblivion - Broken quest?

I am in the mages guild in Bruma and currently trying to complete the commendation quest that I received there called 'Heartfire'.

I have stolen the book 'Jeannes Manual of Spellcraft' and now need to give it to Volanaro. However when I go back to him as the quest log states, I talk to him but there are no conversation options related to the quest so I can't give him the book.

wtf!?!?!

Has anyone done this quest yet? Cause it looks broken to me. Yesterday I couldn't do the quest as in Volanaros place was Js'kar, the man I was tasked to find. when talking to him he just told me to 'Go away, you are ruining it'. Today Volanaro is there instead of Js'kar he told me to steal the book, but now I am in the situation descibed above.

DODGY QUEST!!!

Some one must have done this as it is a mage guild quest. Can anyone help?
 
You might not have the disposition (relationship) with the guy to get the chat option. Butter him up or bribe him, then see.
 
Tis weird, like yesterday when I couldn't do it, I left it for a while went back to the guy and the conversation option is now there. MMO's update quicker than this!!

Anyway guys cheers for spending the time to respond, all seems to be well now.
 
Silly question, but you did scroll down the list to the options that are initially off the bottom? The slider is easy to miss if you're not expecting it.

Im having problems with another quest (unfair trade i think? Its in the main city) Im supposed to get into a chaps house when he is out but he never leaves. Ive spent more than a whole day watching his house.

Ive tried speaking to the merchant he supplies and other quest related NPC's but no joy as of yet.

Any ideas.

Exactally the same thing happened here. Re loaded a save before starting that quest. Did a few other things in a different town, then started it again, and the conversation option that was not there had appeared. Very odd problem. I though i was going mad, atleast someone else has seen it happen too! :D
 
Have to talk to him after 12 in the garden. The other guy leaves at around 12ish to meet the other guy in that little garden bit in the market area.

The guy does say 'meet me just after 11pm' .. did you wait the required time?

It is a bit daft though that you bump into Js'kar all the time, but can't tell the bint that you've found him :)
