Just had an email from game.net asking me I'd like to upgrade my oblivion preorder by £5 to a collectors edition. (had to do a preorder as part of the PGR2 / Live Gold £20 deal a while back).

Collectors Edition you ask?

The Collector’s Edition version which will be available in limited quantities and comes in superb packaging (tin again like PD0 I think) with Exclusive features:

- Pocket Guide to the Empire - a 112 page guide to every aspect of Tamriel, including its people, provinces and much more.
- Making of Oblivion Documentary - includes a special behind-the-scenes documentary on the making of Oblivion.
- Septim Gold Coin - an authentic replicated Septim, the official currency of Tamriel.

This is one of the games I'm most looking forward to (I'm a pc rpg nerd) and I loved morrowind; although there will be some interesting discussions on TV time with the mrs I feel.

Anyone else sad enough to be interested in this?
 
I am, thinking about cancelling my current oblivion order with gameplay and waiting for news of the collectors version.
 
I would if it wasn't in a Tin. I hate how the collectors tins look on the shelf with all the other games. I was really annoyed with the Halo2 one.
 
I haven't been following the progress of this game or read any previews etc... but I hope to god they change the combat system used in the PC version. How stupid was that? Just mindless button clicking. Would be better to employ some sort of 3rd person battle system like Zelda where you're able to lock on to enemies.
 
Gameplay also has them on pre-order for the Xbox 360.

Don't worry, you're not the only one to be waiting for this game. I think I'm gonna become a recluse when it is released, especially if it has the same replayability as Morrowind has :D

Yeah I hate it when I'm trying to play a game and all I can concentrate on is the case.....

Good question actually, it was on there last night or this morning (cant remember which) but I cant find it on the site anymore, just the 'normal' version :confused:

It was there yesterday for £44.99 but seems to have been taken down. Weird :(
 
Just had another email from game.net telling me the release date is now 24-Mar-2006.

So not long :) excellent.
 
Hrm unless I misread and ordered the PC version. It has been delisted now though, so it must be the 360 version because the PC version is still showing under a search for "oblivion".

Gameplay have changed their release date to 24th March too, so mine should be with me on or around the 23rd :D
 
I managed to order the collectors edition yesterday from Gameplay :) I can forsee this game taking up LOTS of my free time!
