Detailed Terrain, New Landscape Shader System

Detailed Terrain updates the technology used to render the game's terrain textures. The traditional shader simply fades from one texture to the next, creating ugly, muddy looking transitions in many areas. The new shader uses alpha information added to each landscape texture to mask the textures when they are blended with the textures below them, producing crisp beautiful transitions that give the illusion of much greater detail in texture application. What’s more, this effect is achieved with practically no impact on performance!
The textures included in this mod are based on the terrain textures in Qarl's Texture Pack III, and have been updated to include alpha channels with appropriate masking patterns.

Finally managed to install this after being forced to register at one of the sites to get the files :(

Looks better IMHO, but the one thing that detracts from it is that after a few metres the AF (or severe blurring) occurs on the textures now. This is horrible on a pathway:( Any idea how to sort this with?

Am i the only that can't see hardly any difference between the screen shots? I mean it's hardly worth it for the frame rate hit.

Lmao , if people aren't visiting the links then whats the point of posting links at all :(

Why post the pics then if we need to visit the links? ;)

Even after visiting the link, the difference is so slight it seems rather pointless

Textures do look sharper , and does look improved. I didn't get the actual individual texture packs however, just the 'beta' file that's 128mb. Not sure if I need the other files?

Still wondering about the very short blurring distance on this though :(
