Oblivion difficulty slider

Ive only just discovered this,, but does setting it to minimum have any effect on the game, (apart from making it really easy that is)?? Ive just set it low to help me get through the dagon shrine part, I couldnt manage it any other way as after I stole the book all hell broke loose and I got shocked and fireballed from all sides,, lol, just wondering if the game will penalise me in any way for using it, It makes the fighting so easy its too good to be true...

Just wondered if all achievements were still possible on easy?? having great fun on low setting, Ive just slaughtered the whole population of Bruma,,lol

So just dropping the difficulty for a hard bit and then upping it straight after youve done it shouldnt really effect leveling
