Oblivion - fighting in the arena.

I have got myself promoted to Gladiator.. but am wondering if anyone has any good tips, beacuse i found that ork chick with the hammer a seriously hard bint.

All depends on what type of character you have. I would say keep well away and wait for it to do a power attack, when they've done this get in and do a few quick attacks and then pull back. Then repeat till its dead. But as I say, all depends what your using.

Yer thats more or less my tactic now, block slash hack block.. legg it.. repeat.

My warrior guy is using the power sword.

Enchanted bow and loads of arrows. Pretty easy, just walk backwards whilst firing.

I struggled with it so went away and left it for a while, I came a few levels later and kicked all there asses. Im now grand championy!!

Make sure you have a good agility and to the right of the gate jump onto the first level, then the top. Pump arrows into them until dead.

I pretty much turtled all the gladiators. Held my shield up until they struck and paused for a second, then hit 'em once or twice.......rinse and repeat. Oh, I did start with an arrow or two when the gates opened.....and the occasional spell, but generally, turn into a turtle

Couple of enchanted weapons from the Assasins guild makes it ever so easy.

That's pretty much how I did it and by using the dark brotherhood weapons in melee. As the gates come down fire off a spell and an arrow then get your shield up

Battlemage style character so I throw some nasty spells at them, like stuff to disintegrate their armor and weapons. Its my disarming personality I swear. Get's em every time. Then just bide my time and take care. Summoning a second creature is always helpful.

Cast spells till your out of mana (normally run out before they get to me), then melee them to death with a big 2hander! easy

Yeah, Arena was the first thing in the game I did and it did feel easy.

Likewise, a few spells, then some magic shortsword and everyone was toast

i fought my way to champion in 1 evening, my tactics were running backwards and opening up with the bow and arrow. this way it reduces your damage. also when the archer is practising out side the arena i kept stealing his arrows so i never ran out

The hardest for me was the multiple assailent contests.

Went mental a few times.

I did the areana in one go straight through.

Used a couple of arrows, then hand to hand and the odd fire ball, they were not overly difficult, even the big guy at the end.

The way I did it was to specialise in conjuration, making sure before I levelled up that I had got all 10 of my level-up points in that one skill. So I was something like an expert in conjuration by level 4 or 5. Then I just had my frost giant (or whatever they are, can't remember now) No swearing! all the competitors whilst I just ran around out of their way.
