Oblivion lag ffs (ditch pc version for ps3?)

I run 4400 with tes4 well ive installed all sorts of texture mods and now its lagging lik **** whats the exact tweaks u used? What do u recommend with your experience? Exact ini tweaks and mods I should download pls.

-AMD 4400
-7900GTX
-2 GIG RAM

mods used
-1011 Brighter Torches
-Landsscape LOD normal map fix
-quarls texture pack 2 (should i upgrrade?)
-Cyrodiil Terrain Map
-Better Nightsky
-Better grass texture without tiling
-that 4096 texture mod
-Book Jackets mod
-shorter grass mod

Have a google for Oblivion TweakGuide. There's an official site. Just FYI, turn off self ahdowing, it looks crap and lags like hell. Peoples faces look like onions with eyes.

You're installing all these texture packs, and you complain that your game lags? If you buy the PS3 version your game will look like the standard Oblivion for PC.

What was the game running like before you installed the texture packs?

use the first link TWEAKGUIDE. it's an essential read and covers all tweaks then look at the MAKE IT PRETTY link, that shows you the various texture mods.
4096 is too much for your card and will lag.

pc version is better because you can get mods, alsp pc will always outstrip consoles, it already has with the 8800 Geforce.

Qarl will give a significant FPS hit unless you have a really high end graphics card, so you can either remove it and find an alternative or just use the vanilla textures...though it makes the game so pretty its almost worth bearing with it You might also save a few FPS my removing your landscape LOD mod/4096 textures and just updating to the newest patch. Since I updated I noticed a lot less stuttering in the wilderness and theres no blurry landscapes anymore, so no need for a mod to fix it.

Tweaking your game will generally also help, but be warned that bad tweaks can make your FPS even lower so be careful and don't overdo it!

MooSey's thread is very good aswell, even got me to start playing again , so have a read through that while your at it!
