Right. I've think I've finally figured out this levelling malarky, but I have one remaining question. When the modifiers are calculated from the minor skills; is it based on their skill level, or the number of skill increments since the last level up?

For example, say I am concentrating on Endurance and Intelligence, so I make sure I get +5 to each of those by using Heavy Armour and Mysticism before I level. I only have 1 minor that uses Agility (acrobatics), and that is also available for +4/+5 when I level (but I don't increase it). Are those agility bonuses then 'lost'? By the time I max my Int and End, my acrobatics may already be at 40, leaving me only 6 '10 increments', so if those bonuses are 'lost' then I can no longer max my agility?

Hope that makes sense.. I just wanted to clarify it before I level too much, I don't want to end up with attributes I want being sucky because I used the minor skills too early

Yep

You'll only stop levelling when all of your atributes hit 100, or you max out all of your major skills.

The best way to level is to take all of the bonuses when they're offered, getting the atributes maxed. You'll be at a lower level than if you only increased by one every time, but you'll compare more favourably to your enemies. For example: say you're at lvl 14, but your attributes are maxed and your skills have advanced far enough to take you past lvl 20... all of your enemies will be set up to fight a lvl 14 character, giving you a bit of an advantage.

That's where the endgame is, character wise: getting to the point you can no longer level, but your skills keep increasing.

Don't the minor skills also cap at 100 though? So if you get too many +5s at each level up, you run the risk of not being able to max a particular stat? (agility in the above example)

Shame there's no way to track how many points you've picked up for each attribute, without saving, levelling and reloading :)
