unfortunately you're very right :(

I'm not sure whether THQ are the ones to blame for this fiasco. For example, look at other games they have released at around the same time like company of heroes and supreme commander. Both of these games, particularly Sup Com have amazing patch support with periods as short as a week between some patches.

I would imagine this has more to do with GSC than THQ, GSC delayed stalker for years before its release, why wouldn't they delay the patches in the same manner.

I guess they are busy making STALKER 2 and tbh I'd rather have them doing that than making patches for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. as I nearly finished it anyway and will not play it again.

The patch is held up by Chinese translation i think, and something to do with Unicode.

Ive never had any problems with it myself, mind you i aint done much of it, only got to the 2nd zone where you defend that scrapyard etc..., so there may be problems after that, so ive been awaiting this patch to fix them as i didn't fancy getting further in and not being able to continue due to a bug or something, but i may just forget about it now and start playing it as you never know, may get through it without probs like a lot of ppl, and the patch could turn up as well before i hit any probs (if i get any). :)
