Oblivion Lost my horse

I have lost my horse shortly after getting the free armour upgrade the is part of the Knights of the Nine expansion. Can't remember what city i was in.

How does one go about finding the nag ?
 
Fast transport to another city and watch the top of the screen - a message should appear telling you that your horse is stabled there at "x stables". Note that this does not always apply to Shadowmere. If it's him/her you lost, then go back to where you got it.

But eventually the game will lose track of the horse if you fast travel on foot too often. And personally i think they are a waste of time anyway - it's more useful to bunny-hop everywhere to get speed and agility up.

I lost Shadowmere when I was drunk (100% true, sadly) and I thought it was never going to come back, but eventually (about 3 weeks later!) a message came on the top of the screen saying 'Shadowmere has returned to Fort Farragut' :D

Wait it out, he'll come back :)

i love the game for that... the AI works in real time instead of automatically loading up with a fresh pattern of everyday life.
