Well, ive decided to play through.. well play it AGAIN lol.

I noticed there has been a HUGE number of mods released since i last played.

What are THE most essential for increading LoD (level of detail), landscape looks.. just general graphics boost. Gameplay if its vital, UI.... Just the top 10 must have oblivion mods (dont want to alter the gameplay that much :)

Not aure what class im going to play yet.... hmmmm, Ive played a archer, theif, assasin..... hmmmm, ill cross the bridge when i get to it and let you know

All is going well, i chose a nightblade, destruction magic with some blade, light armor, alteration, restoration and acrobatics as main skills :D Great fun class.

So if you know of any mods that suit to that as well, they are more than welcome :D

p.s. how do you delete stuff from your bags btw? drop them, ive pressed every key possible, manual and still cant find the answer lol

OK. I tried playing this thing once. Downloaded a ton of mods to make it look better. Overall impression was good - at first. Then I realised that every second NPC looks and acts like the last ten I've met, and the animations are painfully primitive. The complete lack of animation for jumping was the last straw. That's just lazy programming.

I further realised that most of the world outside the towns and specified event areas is totally irrelevant to the game, and might as well not exist because nothing ever happens there. Teleporting between towns is convenient, but makes me wonder why they bothered with the additional content in the first place.

No shortcuts on the menu & interface; you have to click through a long string of sub-menus just to reach the one thing you wanted, then click back through the same string of sub-menus just to exit the main one.

Gameplay was half decent; interface was utterly dire, and controls were awkward. I just couldn't get into it, and never saw the attraction.

I couldn't possibly post a comprehensive list of every decent mod here, because there are simply too many. It's a testament to how bad Oblivion is out of the box, actually.

There are a few mods which I feel are pretty important though, here are a few recommendations, you don't have to use them all or any of them if you don't want to.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul :: http://jorgeoscuro.googlepages.com/
Major overhaul of the, quite frankly, broken game. It has gameplay adjustments as well as some visual enhancements. For a full list, visit the page.

Visual Improvment Mods by miknmel1 :: http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=153868
These are my favourite visual enhancement mods. I'm not a fan of big packs such as Qarls, because I feel they change the visual style too much. These mods however provide major improvements without changing too much.

Illumination Within :: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6244
Adds lights to buildings at night, improves immersion greaty. There are prerequisites for this one so make sure you read the infos.

Natural Faces :: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1965
Improves character face textures.

Facial Textures by Enayla :: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9534
More character face textures.

Better Water :: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1830
Self explanitory.

There are many, many more, but I'm not at home right now so can't view my OBMM. But these are a few you can start with. If anything else comes to mind, I'll edit this post. There are others too which I'm not going to link to here. (HGEC Body for instance, makes females, uh, more attractive.)

A good place to just browse for mods that interest you is www.tesnexus.com, and they have a top 100 list (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/top.php). Like I said, there are far too many good mods to list them here.
