I feel like cranking out Oblivion again and seeing how it goes.

I've got the Game of the Year Edition on Steam which I believe means I have all the extras for the game including the Expansion.

This time around I'm playing it on pretty decent hardware - It'll be on a Vertex 2, Phenom 1090T, 8GB RAM and a 580 GTX. So I expect I can crank everything up and get good FPS.

Previously when I've tried to go back and play it I've gotten bogged down trying to get a good set of mods going, to the point where I don't actually get to play the game... I just get the mods working (or not) and then get fed up.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Must_Have_Mods <-- That lists the bug fixes and I will be installing all of those.

I'd like to enhance the looks of the game, so improved textures and NPC appearance etc are what I'm after... I just don't know what would constitute a good set of mods to put together.

I think I will also install Francesco’s Leveled Creatures and Items mod. I am not a fan of everything levelling up with me, so I may try that.

I'm sure it must have been done before, so hopefully someone can point me at the right list! :)

Follow this guide: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18247684

Ive used it myself its great but just a tip I wouldnt use this mod in the guide:

Really Almost Everything Viewable When Distant 1.9

It kills your framerates to the point where its a slideshow and this is on my i7 920 and GTX480@820 core :o

The use of Git in that tutorial is unnecessary tbh I didn't use it and it came out fine for me :)
