Oblivion Patches

Started playing oblivion and am really quite enojying it, is it worth playing through without patches or are there some that really do enhance the game?

Wouldnt have to start again if i install patches will i?

I'd install the extra mods available.

btmod
no more annoying messages
higher texture rez pack
natural enviroments.

think i might play though it withought first, then go through again with them, there does seem to be some really good mods out there, dont really want to start again at the moment because im a fair way in

have uninstalled and am doing everything from scratch

anyother mods people would suggest?
