Oblivion Plugins - Will they be released as an expansion pack?

Despite my reluctance of buying additional content for a game ive allready purchased (Thats another story for another thread).. I am tempted to buy the Wizards Tower and the horses armour.

Does anyone else think that when they have enough of these plugins, they will release an expansion pack? I know nothing official as been announced but what is the general consesnsus?

What happened to the days of developers making content for goodwill? I guess production costs have gone up now with fancy textures etc.

Anyone remember Total Anihilation - Cavedog released umpteen free units for that.. then released the expansion packs with the same units which I happily purchased.

I guess thos times have long gone

Saying all that, the plugins are only just over a £1 a go.. so no harm I guess... just begrudge spending £10 on several plugins now if can buy on a nice DVD in a shiny case in a few months

I think it fairly unlikely as most of the plugins are made by fans and not the developers themselves.

I know that there are one or two official add ons at the moment, but they'll probably just stay as pay and download from the official site.

*edit* Just noticed that they have really decreased the cost of the official plugins. Not quite so much of a rip off now.

all those citys, towns, dungons, over 200 quests and god knows how many models/sounds/textures. oh and lets not forget speedtree, facegen and havok too... blah blah for £26 quid and they asked folk to pay £1.50 for two horses that had armour attached? at that price scale the game would have cost several hundred quid at least.

i love the game but i aint paying that sort of money no matter how small it may seem, it is not good value.

Couldn't agree more - Orrery took me about 20mins to finish. Horse armour is pointless in the extreme. Frostcrag (Wizards tower) is nice to look at, but as far as I could see basically pointless (no real 'quest' to talk about).

Give me proper content, not these bitesized and useless morsels.

tbh I think the horses armour plugin is the only decent plugin, and with that it only makes the game look pretty. I think they should start adding land masses as it might just be me but I really feel a size difference when playing compared to the size of morrwind.

I think there's a lot of potential for expansions with Oblivion. I'd really like to see some of the other provinces, especially Summerset Isle, Hammerfell and High Rock.

It would be great if war horse add on were available, instead of just stopping and getting off your horse you can smack into soldiers (a bit like LOTR BFME) as it is now more like riding a pony
