oblivion prob, mouse stops responding?

hi all, i just re-installed oblivion to give it another go but im gettin a prob when im playing, the mouse and keyboard stop working in the game, the game itself is still running fine its just as tho the mouse/keybaord sticks or sommin?? i can alt tab out of the game and all works norm again and i checked task manager and all is good there too?? any ideas??? i reallly wanna get into it again :)

EDIT: oh i forgot to say i upgraded to 1.2 btw :) and i have tried audio codecs also

EDIT 2 (im good at these lol) it just did it again so i dont think its the below solution

ahhh i think i found a soultion, i needed to disable joystick in the config panel..sorry for the waste of thread :)

who would have thought a joystick would knock out a game like oblivion :D

I had the same problem, game would carry on running but my character wouldn't move (mouse+kb). I couldn't find any solution and uninstalled it, picked up Shivering Isles recently and it works fine now, no freezing, lag or anything. So you could try either the 1.2 patch or get SI, see if it works.
 
my mouse sometimes stop responding while playing High demanding games like Oblivion, mainly because my 485W PSU cannot handle the power my X1900XTX requires while supporting other hardwares on my system at the same time.
 
sometimes i have problem with my mosue not responding. When i get knifed in the back on CS for example i seem to blackout for a few minutes. When i come back around im all dizzzy n sweaty and they are random holes in my bedroom wall. Occasionally when i go to use my mouse it doesnt work :/
