Oblivion problem - Magicka won't restore!

Hi,

For some reason my magicka on Oblivion will not restore. It always used to but now it just remains empty until I drink a potion. Please could someone help me?

I'm a dark elf btw.

hmmm, I'm pretty sure neither of them would have that affect. If you upload it, or send it, I'd be happy to check to see if it works on mine.

Doesn't restore for me either.

It's certainly a strange one. I've tried it on two different installs of Oblivion, neither restores.

Naw, the savegame works fine, it must be down to the game character settings, I can't see why it happens though.

I've also tried taking off all the clothes he's wearing (in the offchance that it is something he is wearing) and waiting for hours (t key, iirc). Neither works.

I did have knights of the nine installed too, would that affect it?

I'm guessing you have some sort of spell cast on you? That's the only reason I can think of, unless your save is bugged. Go into your spells inventory and on the last tab there should be a list of spells that are active on you right now. Take a look through.

Cracked it! Bring up the console (` key) and type in ShowRaceMenu, press return, change the race of your character, select any (i did Breton) click ok to all the boxes so you've changed, do it again, but change it back to Dark Elf, and it should work again!

Did you select the Atronach birthsign?
You dont regen magika normally with that - you absorb spells to regenerate your magika

The disease "Astral Vapours", usually cast by high level zombies, causes stunted (i.e. non-regenerating) magicka. You can use f3 to check any effects currently on you.
