Oblivion: red/green arrows on compass?

Where are they? I had the game on 360, liked it but wanted to get mods so sold it and bought pc version. It took me a while to notice, but there is no red/green arrows on the compass to tell me where to go, its getting annoying as i have to go to each door in each town if i want to find someone. Surely they didnt leave it out or anything in the pc version?

(BTW i have Natural Enviroments mod installed, and improved UI, couldnt be these could it?)

They are there normally unless BTMod or similar has uninstalled them with its disableicons and disablecompass add ons.

Edit - Its be improved UI thats doing it probably. Use the data file option on the splash page to see if the disable.... options are selected.

Sometimes it's great to have them switched off, stops that GTA effect where you zoom right in on the target. But then again, I got as far as the Rumare slaughterfish quest (grind yourself 12 slaughterfish scales) and switched it back on, as an already annoying quest suddenly became a disaster.

Do you actually have an active quest? If not, no arrow will show. In addition, a small number of quests don't show an arrow for at least part of the quest, so if one of those is active, again you won't see a marker.

well it was the UI mod, but there was a way to turn it off.
