Went to play Oblivion for the first time in months and my saved games have all disappeared! I have no idea what has happened to them, the only thing I've done with Oblivion in months is move the shortcut from my desktop to a folder in my documents? I've looked in Program Files>BethesdaSoftworks>Oblivion> everywhere in there but I can't find any saves?

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place  But it's well annoying as I don't want to start all over again with my character. I don't suppose anyone has a clue whats happened or if someone can give me an example of what the saved games are called so I can search through the hard drive?

:(

I've got the GotY edition if it makes any difference....

three things ...

1) Oblivion save files are *.ess files - do a complete search of all your hard drives, all directories, all backup cds/dvds to see if you can locate them.

Are you playing the same account now as when you made the saves - the save directory will be in the "My Documents" for the account you were using at the time of the save.

2) I have been caught out by an oblivion bug where it says it has saved the file when in fact the save failed. This was related in my case to running out disk space. NO ERROR MESSAGE WAS GIVEN! Oblivion was coded by PC illiterate morons without the slightest interest in PC conventions.

3) I hope this helps - let me know if it does. If not I feel your pain - I really do :(

Heh, they were exactly where they should have been. My Documents > My Games > Oblivion > Saves. The problem was I had moved the My Games folder into another folder in my documents when I was tidying things up. It didn't like that :p
