I can't seem to find ny merchants who want to sell me torches, anyone know of any merchants who stock them regularly?
 
dont really use torches myself. rely on nighteye vision. But then maybe im missing out on some of the dark atmosphere as the world does look better in torchlight when it isnt all blue. Also its easier to tell if you will be hidden in shadow if you dont have nightsight on.
 
If you look in the barrels/crates scattered around the Imperial Marketplace where the groups of shops are, you should find some there. I used to use them but found them diminishing at the worst of times while within dungeons.

Now I've got my greaves enchanted with 40ft light radius which works a treat now. I've just mastered Illusion earlier too! All by running around casting Starlight non stop since I began playing lol :D
 
I never really considered it before because I'm a Khajiit and can turn on night vision pretty much whenever, but doesn't illuminating the area around you or carrying a torch attract enemies like, well, a moth to a flame?
 
This was a problem for me until I enchanted some armour to light 60ft constant with a Sigil Stone.

Combine that with the Skeleton Key and Raiding caves is a JOY!

(Level 20 and sitting on near 100k!)

Yes it does, which is why thieving at night with a torch or any light emitting spell is baad :D
