oblivion vampire

Just a quick note for anyone thats contracted it but wondering what to do before they fully turn in to one. Visit a chapel and click the altar in there, it should cure you.
 
Or drink a cure disease potion.

For any evil thief/killer who's debating whether or not to contract the dark gift - do it :) It's the best decison i've made in Oblivion.
 
Just out of curiosity does being a vampire make you impervious to normal weapon attacks?

I havn't come across any yet although I don't really know what they look like (I keep thinking the dark elfs are vampires lol)
 
They don't look much different to most humans - a little more gaunt and sinister. I have a dark elf vampire. Evil as sin itself :)

Vampires get some resistance to normal weapons too, but not much. The benefits are improved stats (between +5 to +15 on most attributes, depending on the time between each feed) and extra skills. Having nighteye and detect living creatures on tap makes them the ultimate thieves/assasins. Being able to charm, silence/fear, and go invisible is also nice (all on top of your racial skills) :)
 
then you find out you're redgaurd with risistance to disease, so becoming a vampire is relly hard for me :(

sounds like fun though

Hmmm, I can become a Vamp if I want to quite easily, and the skills do sound quite neat, so may well give it a try tonight on a seperate save. Going invisible is invaluable for any thief/assassin.
 
Is it possible to get 'Re-vamped' once you've been cured?

I was given the option by the chap in the Dark Brotherhood but declined then wondered if it would even work.
 
Can't hurt to try. I've always loved Vampire movies, and am having a great time stalking my prey and only feeding on the sexiest of women (excpet for one time that I was trapped out in the sun after not feeding for a few days. I had to quickly break into the nearest house and feed on an Orc :/)

It's also pretty cool being able to juggle between a super powerful vampire with loads of extra stats (up to +20) and new powers, but who can't go in the sun and is ugly as sin, or a more subtle vampire type who can blend into the crowd without being noticed, day or night. Even when you're the 'weakest' vampire in the vamp meter you're still more powerful than before, and always have nighteye and detect living.

//edit - just ask him again, Wyrdo. He'll still offer the Dark Gift :)

yea it is, I had vampirism cured it, about 20 minutes later "you have contracted polymorphic hemophilia" damn is what i said to put it lightly
