Sorry for a thread on a rather old game, but I've started playing it again. Spoilers present, so stop reading if you haven't played it, etc.




So after playing this the first time, and having to complete that tediously long quest to cure vampirism, I've now found out I can just use a 'potion of cure disease' within the first three days of contracting it, to cure it. So, after finding one, I took it. This was day 2, and yet it seems not to have done anything.

Have I done something wrong? :p
 
The way I did it was to go to one of the temples in the cities. I can't remember which though. The effect should be instant in any case. So youd better hurry up and get to a temple if the potion doesnt work :D

The problem is, my infamy is higher than my fame, so it won't let me. It just constantly says 'Repent your crimes, wicked one!' or something along those lines. :(:p

From what I can see, that problem only occurs if I'm following the quest to cure it.

It says here:

For the first 72 hours after being infected with Porphyric Hemophilia, the condition is subject to the rules which govern any other disease (and can be cured in the same fashion). If you become infected and do not wish to become a vampire, you must drink a potion, eat an ingredient (e.g. Mandrake Root), or cast a spell which cures disease. Alternatively, you could go to the nearest temple and receive a blessing at the chapel altar. If you do not cure the disease within three days, however, you can no longer be cured. At that point, the only way to prevent becoming a vampire is to avoid sleeping for as long as possible.

So, according to that, I can just take the potion within three days and be cured. This doesn't appear to have worked though. :/
 
You can't repent if you have a bounty or your infamy is greater than your fame.

If you contact haemophilia-porphoria (whatever its called; the vampire disease) you have three days to cure it before you turn.

You can repent on the church alter to banish the disease, or you can use a cure disease potion which does the same job (the only option if you have greater infamy and cant pray.)

Do this within three days or it'll be too late.

edit: oops, never read the whole thread

instead of restarting on the ps3, get it for the PC and load up on mods! Its 10x better than the original game.
