Oblivion - What class should i be?

Hey guys.


After just reading the manual, i cant really decide whitch class to be.


What would you reccomend?


Also, can every single class be a thief?

Ahh, i dont know whats up with oblivion. Its gone laggy on me again.

When im in a town it will be jerky.

Res is set on the lowest, and the sliders are neally all the way to the left,

Grass is off, self shadows are aswell... etc...

Any other settings i could fiddle with to make it a bit more smoother?

Intel Celeron D 2.93GHz

2 GIG Ram

My gfx card is a 6800 16 pipes - unlocked.

Im sure this game should run ok, but it isnt :(

I have about the same system (faster processor though) and Pci-e 6800 (so only 12 pipes) but its the 256mb version, and only 1gb of ram.

It runs fine on mine at 1280*720 with decent eye candy on. Did you do the nvidia frames to render tweak?

And small areas with lots of NPC's have always been laggier than running outside for me. Figured this out when I was running it at 1680*1050 and having too much mouse lag in buildings.

Ive got it working pretty good, but laggy at times, when in towns with lots of people around for example.


1024 x 768 2x aa!

most settings to low

I have a bounty off 2k gold to pay!

How the hell do i do this? Keep stealing?

I only have 500gold... Wheres the best place to steal?

Also, can you buy a bigger bag so you dont get over encumbered(ty?) easily.

I go to shops, late at night, pick the lock and steal.

and i dont get caught, this doesnt get me bounty does it?

And when you mention dungeon raids, where are these dungeons?

Places that are worth "taking a look at" are castles. Especially if there are display cases around a count/countess' throne, they tend to have reasonable items in there to steal.

Everywhere really! Caves with vampires are very good for loot. They tend to be wearing/use good armour and weapons, just need to visit a chapel after killing some. Bandits tend to have some good items as well, can find these along roads close to cities, as well as elsewhere. Ayleid ruins have lots of chests/casks with money and potions, and sometimes the creatures have good items. They can be found everywhere really, the best option is to go roaming and when you see a fort/ruin/camp symbol on your compass, head towards it.

BTW, when your in the caves killing monsters, does it start getting really laggy?

As i thought it would for me, because some times it can get jerky when in towns, when theres a few people about.

Just being into a cave (and got lost :p)

I found an item worth 250GOLD!

But, i couldnt really see NPC's dropping good stuff in there :(
