Ok, decided to give this game another go. Basically, I want to know where and what mods to download to make the game better ( gameplay and graphics wise ). Thanks.

I have seen people talking about mods that are able to make games look prettier. Was wondering if anyone can shed some light regarding this :p

I have waaaaay too many Oblivion mods installed, but it helps the experience loads. I used to find it rather boring, it paled in comparison to all the other games on my PC. Now it's an awesome, massive game with loads of stuff to do, and it's nice and balanced. It took ages to get it just right, though, but was it worth it!

I just started playing the game myself and apparently the people who made the game released a disc with a lot of good mods on. I don’t know much about it, but im meant to be borrowing it from a friend

I play it vanilla...with one exception. You MUST install the BT Mod. It makes the items in the inventory smaller. Once you've been playing along time you'll soon amass vast amounts of loot etc. It was impossible before I installed the BT mod.

I'm also considering a couple of other mods..too make it look even more gorgeous...any suggestions appreciated!

BT Mod is the second best Mod that I have installed - it shrinks the interface down to something more useful, and concise. The best Mod, definitely the latest Natural Environments. It makes the lighting and weather more realistic, and it even adds little birdies flying in the sky far above your head. Hooray for little birdies! But it mucks with your framerate sometimes. :(

Would it be too much of a trouble for you to post the links for those mods please? Thanks :)

What would you say was the best level mod, so that the NPCs dont lvl with you.

I tried one once but it was silly, you would get jumped by massive level creatures even on the paths to and from the citys.

Just download that plugin that makes wildlife not attack you as often. Seems a bit silly to cripple the combat of the whole game just because you can't handle killing bears, wolves and lions :o

Righto, here goes...
Natural Environments 2.1.2 - Natural Environments
BTMod 2.20 - BTMod
Tamriel Travellers (Adds Travelling Merchants) - Tamriel Travellers
Open Cities 1.05 (Makes all cities but Imp. City run onto Wilderness, ie no gates, so free roaming! Watch out for framerate drops on lower-end PCs) - Open Cities
I've got loads more, but most of them aren't all that useful.

I didn't like Qarl's Texture Pack - it doesn't look very natural, everything looks weird. It ruined the experience for me. Overloads ModPack may have a lot of useful mods, but it also has a lot of useless ones, which make it less fun. Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul is good - but don't install the full one! Install the Lite one, and choose which other mods you would like, but avoid the slow-levelling and Deadly Combat. They make the game very slow, and boring. People say "Oh, it's more like Morrowind!" You didn't buy the game to play more Morrowind, though, did you? You bought it to play Oblivion.
