I am running Oblivion with an E6600 @3.33GHz, 4Gb of RAM, Windows XP and a nVidia 285GTX. Why does it still pause/stutter when I move across country?
I am guessing that it is loading the new area, however how can I reduce this to a minimum level or be rid of it?
Thanks.

That can't be right. I've ran it on my rig with AA and several mods including QarlTP3 and stutter was pretty minimal.

I am thinking possibly a driver issue: old game - new card/drivers?
The ironic thing about it is the game seemed to run best on my Dell Dimension 9200 with a 7900 GS?? Or was that a rose tinted monitor?
Scratching my head?

Rose tinted...

Do a driver update and a windows update :)

For the record it used to play on complete max with no delay on my old setup of an e8200, 4870/gtx280 and 8 gig of ram in vista. Havnt tested it out on the macbook pro yet though

Reducing the shadow detail has had a massive effect (improvement).
Surely I should be able to max out this game with my setup?
Or is it just very badly written?

off topic

whats the MBP like for light gaming?

Ok, I think I have found the problem, if I disable Realtek HD audio in device manager the game runs without a pause maxed out. Suggestions?

Hopefully most of the links still work. The Bethesda forums and TES Nexus (for mods) are still very active.
Feel free to add any new links for mods or fixes;)

I have an issue in Fallout 3 whereby when walking the game appears to stutter and jerk very slightly, though the FPS is well up there and fine otherwise. It's just with movement, and I think it's an engine-specific issue, does this happen in oblivion too then?
