I would counter that by saying that being in an economic doom loop with crumbling public services affects people's incomes much more, as well as their health and quality of life.

The extra money pumped into NHS will go down a drain.

NHS needs to be more efficient, pumping money at it will not fix it.

At least you might be less likely to die when you need an ambulance now though.
A friend of mine waited 4 hours for one the other day lying on the floor with a broken leg in agony. I know it's not life critical but meh. Pretty sad state we are in.

Town near me is a bit of a retirement location - twice recently (and has happened several times in recent years as well) older people have fallen and broken something and been lying on the ground for around 3-4 hours before an ambulance could get to them - can't find the post about the one I know of who broke their leg and hip falling but this was the second one recently:

My grandad fell out of bed a couple of years back and broke his hip and was lying on the floor for 10 hours overnight before an ambulance could attend - because his carer got there (trained medical professional) and he was inside his own home they downgraded it out of necessity despite him being in considerable pain and the floor being cold.

EDIT: To be fair though I live out in the middle of nowhere and they still have a ~18 minute record for attending life threatening incidents in this area and about half that closer to the bigger towns.
