Hi All,

A quick question,

Does the fan controller built into the 650d have sensor of sorts?

The reason i ask is that it appears to be slowing down my fans when i dont want it to.

I have both fans for my h100 setup on this controller and came back from lunch today and temps had rocket. Yet the fans were not running.

Also during use, even though i have it on Medium setting i can hear it speeding up and slowing down the fans. WTF is going on lol.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Cheers

Just like now, the fans are set to medium speed, but have reduced to next to nothing at the moment. The second the screen saver kicks in temps shoot up but the fans dont ramp up. This is really odd

If i feel around where the switch is in the sata dock area its really hot, if i flick the switch to high the fans kick in and then when i put it back to medium they stay at the speed they should be at for around 10mins then slow right down again. Really is odd :(

I have a corsair 600t and the fan controller on it is woeful to say the least, but luckily enough i bought a nzkt 5 channel fan controller the other week for my old case so ill be fitting that soon, I find the fan speeds with the corsair controller are just neither here or there, you can't put them lower then medium speed which when im idle or watching a film the noise is annoying it isn't loud as such just sounds like leaves rustling and with the corsair controller im stuck with that hence the feeling i need to change controllers. Ill let you know the outcome tommorow once i fit it and sort the cabling.

As for speed drops it isnt something ive noticed but then i run them on low unless im gaming and when gaming i kinda zone into what im doing and dont notice the fans.

The fans on the 650D, well certainly the front one, are disappointingly loud. Also, my front Corsair badge came scuffed in two places, but Corsair want me to call their US people to sort that. I really don't want to have to return the whole thing though.

I haven't used the fan controller yet, but was planning to in order to shut the fans up. I saw some people had theirs melt though, which isn't good. I think a fixed version was released? Not sure what I've got.

Anyone changed the fans completely with good results?

I put a CM sickle flow on the exhaust, but made in an intake for the H100, (that exhausts)
And a CM 200mm fan in the front, (can't remember what they are called) I had to "mod" the drive bays to make it fit... Bent out the curly bits, and took off the rubber gromit things (that secure the fan screws)!

Haven't tested the setup yet, CPU Wednesday!!!!

Edit: I took out the fan controller!

Hi Guys,

Seems like im not the only one who finds it shocking then :(

alex24 mine is also scuffed  thought it had a plastic cover over it earlier but on closer inspection it is scuffing :(

I really loved the 800d which had my old build in it. (Sold it all last year)

Im thinking of selling this and looking at a TT Level 10GT but after dare I admit it purchaing a TT Level 10 at nearly £500 last year and find the quality on that was shocking (Search for the thread if you want more info) I cant bring myself to buy another TT case again lol

Have just removed the fan controller from the loop so to speak.

Was really odd that it was getting hot! Now have the two fans on the H100 connected to the waterblock itself and the remaing two fans running from MOBO headers.
