Hey Guys,

I am considering getting the Photon Wrath with an R9 290 but really don't want the stock cooler due to being so loud and the card getting so hot.

Considering that most custom cooled R90 290s seem to be to be either too long (Sapphire Tri-X) or too tall (ASUS DirectCU II) for the Corsair Obsidian 250D case, I was wondering if any of you know which R9 290s actually fit into the case.

Price wise I would go for the MSI R9 290 Gaming Edition if it fits.
I will mostly be gaming with the system but will also use it for some mining and don't want to have to sit next to a jet engine.

Thanks a lot for the advice!

Thanks for all the replies!
I have actually built several systems in the past and the reason that I am going for a prebuilt system this time is exactly as Shawy mentioned due to the warranty and repair service.

I did just notice that the Photon Envy (Same as Wrath but with Nvidia GPU) has the option of a MSI Geforce GTX 780 Gaming Edition OC (if you add the system to your cart with GTX 780 selected).

The MSI specifications for these cards actually states that the R9 290 is 2mm shorter (height) than the GTX 780, but that the R9 290 is 1cm longer, so I am hoping that the length isn't going to be an issue. I think I will just give customer service a call tomorrow then.

Thank you all for your help, I'll update this thread once I call OcUK tomorrow.

So I did end up getting the system with the MSI Radeon R9 290 Gaming Edition.
Fits perfectly into the Corsair Obsidian 250D. The machine is an absolute beast for its size. I am very happy indeed.

Thanks for the comments.
