Started playing Avowed a few days ago. Enjoying it but I don't tend to experiment much with different loadouts. At the moment I am using an axe and a shield with a few skills from the Fighter and Ranger tree.

Did people prefer other styles more? 2H? Spellcasting? Pistols?

Mostly enjoying this. Exploration is quite enjoyable and have found some fun bits from off hand npc comments. Got out of the planned map accidentally in the first area so messed around a lot there. Using the Arquebus, which I got as a reward, currently which does quite well but very early days.

Wand + Grimoire is the most fun in my opinion.

I tried two-handed weapons, wands, sword and shield, but settled on pistol and frost grimoire by about halfway through act II. Worked really well, especially once I had enough ability points to use the higher level spells.
