OC counter staff

WELL ACTUALLY,

I like to thank the person who served me on saturday.
My bill was £294 and I handed over £300 in £20 notes.
He counted it while my interest was somewhere else and then turned and said 'You've give me £20 too much' and handed it back.
Phil was there so give that man a tap on the back.
How is £300 £20 too much?

To whom you trying to suck up?

Fixed, although it now seems to have an alterior meaning. :p

I've faced angry customers on the delicatessen counter. One who is distinct from all others was an old black lady.

*Gather round for cool story time*

It was rather busy, queues of customers on deli and hot deli counters, separate, but still one counter. I was keeping track of who arrived before who, and serving in order. I went to the next customer on the hot deli, whom this black lady was standing behind, and after serving, walked back down to the deli to serve the next customer. While I'm slicing for this customer, I hear yelling in my direction. I turn around and the lady is yelling at me, verbal diarrhea style without taking a breath, that I'm a bad person and shouldn't be working here if because I didn't serve her because she was black. Now, I'm not usually intimidated, but this took me wrong footed, plus she didn't pause for a response. The other customers waiting started telling her to STFU, and she started hammering on them. Store manager came over, she didn't even stop, just laid into him too. He was dead calm and said "please calm down, you're shouting", to which she replied by yelling "No, I'm not shouting!" and the store manager replied "yes you are, please leave my store." She was removed by security with a complimentary lifetime ban. :D

Cool Story!

I hope you corrected his grammar.

I frequently used to visit the store in Fenton and now use the store in Newcastle.
I had an experience today that I would like to share.
I had rapidly headed there today as I needed an item that was listed as 1 left in stock as I couldnt get through on the phone lines.

Having entered the store I see the same chap as on previous visits, behind the counter going about his business.

While queuing I witnessed an awkward customer.

He handled a very awkward situation very professionally and stood firm in his decision making; while doing so he kept his composure, dealt with the situation and then carried on regardless.

I think it worthwhile noting this as too many are happy to complain about a service and not comment on the good.

well done that man.

*DISCLAIMER* I have no affililation or know this chap whatsoever. :)

Did you toss his salad for being such a stand-up guy?

Thank you for your comments. Simon is a great asset and knows how to handle difficult situations well.

Some of you in this thread need to grow up, before I NUKE YOUR SORRY ASSES :D

So basically a shop assistant did the job they get paid to do, hardly worthy of praise is it?

[OT]

This is why waiters/waitresses expecting a tip or automatically adding it to the bill really ****** me off >.>

And people complain at me when I point it out hohum

Nice try Spie

That's amazing at other hardware shops when an awkward customer is there the staff just tell them to **** off and throw hard drives at the customers face until they leave.

It was like that when I worked at the purple shirt company years ago.
