oc does 4gb make a difference

i have an 2180, abit IP35-E, 2gb geil LL 800mhz

running 300*10 = 3.ghz ram at 900Mhz 5-5-5-12

if i buy another 2gb will it allow the OC to same level?

Well you might not get it to 900mhz, but it won't affect your CPU overclock, and the extra 2gb should over-ride any preformance hit from running it slower than your current 900mhz (the hit would be tiny anway).

i've run upto 485-490 or fsb 1:1 with 4x1gb on a p35 board with a c2d prime stable.

450 shouldn't be a problem board permitting, but you'll almost certainly need more voltage to the ram than normal.
