Some of you may have read my post about not being able to get my E6600 past 2.8 I tried for a few days afetr it had run stock for 3 years.
I was not happy hearing people were getting 3.2 easy with theres so today I sat down and read a lot of posts about overclocking and I came across one about doing the abit board and an E6600, I read the post and then went to my main box and tried the first overclock at 9x no post so I did 8 x 400 also altered mem to 2.1 and mch to 1.6 and also core to 1.375 and hey presto 3.2 and its now on prime with temps at highest 60c for cpu sys 33c and pwm at 66c, My cpu cooler is a freezer pro 7 with its normal fan but I also put another fan the other side to achieve a push and pull system.
Ok now I have this and the temps are not too high should i try upping the bus a little more or just enjoy my new 800mghz overclock, I am so happy as I tried for days to do this and now just two attempts so people its best to read up before doing any thing you achieve more and quicker....Thanks to all those that told me to keep trying as it would do 3.2 for deff...;)

Give it 1.40v and see if you can get 3.4-3.6ghz!

You're ok voltage wise up till 1.50v, providing you're temps aren't sky high, but i don't think you'll need anywhere near that even for 3.6ghz. :)

I know it sounds a bit extreme but maybe a new mobo ? i used to have an E6600 in a Asus P5Q Deluxe and my friend clocked it straight to 3.60GHZ for me.

Well I have now got it to 3.4 with vcore in bios @ 1.375 but shows 1.4 in cpuid, temps max 55c I tried for 3.6 but had a little messing and cmos clearing so I am leaving it @ 3.4 now doing a prime 95 for a few hours and see what happens, cheers all for the help and also the encouragement..;)
