I am using the E8400, I got it to 3.6 and all tests were OK, I had to actually decrease the vcore as the auto was putting up too much, so my v is 1.2375, heard that more than 1.31 can shorten your CPU life.

What I am wondering is about my RAM, I am using the 8500 Corsair 1066 5-5-5-18 at 8GB so 2gbx4. The mobo has already made the RAM 800 since it can't handle the 4 slots being poppulated, using the Striker II ASUS board.

What I done was to put the FSB at 1600 so 3.6Ghz, RAM at 800 as it was and voltage at 1.2375. This seemed to work but again... I really don't want to kill the RAM. So should I take the RAM down to 667 since I am using 4 slots? What I done now is increase the RAM to 6-6-6-20 as this might help. I ran Prime for about 2 3 hours and all was good but still.

So any idea what I should do with the RAM? I don't wanna fry it. Would having the FSB at 1600 and RAM at 800 be OK or should I drop the RAM to 667? Maybe increase the timings to 7-7-7-20?

Cheers.

its fine to keep ram at 800mhz, just remember that having all 4 slots on your motherboard occupied, it will limit your overclock.
ps. leave ram timings on auto.

oh and set the correct voltage for the ram too.. maybe 1.8/2.0 v. it will tell you on the stick.
