Hello All!

I am a noobie in seek of some help from the OC Gods :D
Right now I'm running a new system I put together a few weeks ago:

Asus M5A99X EVO BIOS1208
AMD FX-6100 3.3GHz
Corsair H50 Push/Pull
8GB (2x4) Corsair 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3
PowerColor HD7850 OC 2GB
RevoDrive3 120GB
Antec Earthwatts 670W PSU
Samsung DVD-RW
11 Fans total in a NZXT Phantom

I've seen people claim to get up to 4.5GHz..so where am I going wrong?
I'm currently OC using AI Suite 2 and I'm stable up to 4039MHz, which is
the furthest I can go using that method but when I try clocking via the
BIOS everything freezes or restarts or doesn't power up without being
unplugged and plugged back in which scared the s*** out of me lol
(I thought I killed it a few times...stress!)

One key thing I noticed is that I can't touch my multiplier at all wether
running at stock or not...everthing freezes when I do and it's maxed out
at 16.5 so I rely on raising the Bus speed up to 244MHz :-/

Could temperature be the bottleneck at 4GHz? I've tested everything on
100% load and max temp is 51C :-?

I have poked around google for an answers but nothing except the bulldozer
guides but it's confusing because my BIOS has different options and with
the freezing I'm weary of tampering without an expert's knowledge so I
would appreciate any help :-)

Thank You!

You probably have to start raising vcore after 4.0GHz and check that the memory, HT and NB speeds are not excessive.

Raise your vCore, (CPU Voltage). Bump it up by 0.1, then up multiplier until its not stable/wont boot, then up vCore again and repeat, Dont go over 1.49vCore, 1.5 is safe on decent watercooling, just the H50 is a mid-low range kit.

I have the FX-4170 on a H80 and I run a 4.8Ghz overclock with 1.45vCore, but as you have more cores you should be able to do 4.6Ghz with 1.475vCore, and mine was done just with multiplier, not bus.

You may have to set the ram clock manually too.
