hi there ive just built a cheap gaming pc using a amd 6300 cpu i have fitted a corsair a50 cooler to keep it cool i would just like to know what are the safe temps and volts for this cpu as well as a quick guide to get me started o yea the mobo is a asrock 970 extreme 3

Safe voltage for this CPU is 1.5V or a fraction more. Safe temp according to AMD is 62C although you can go a bit more the CPU will start to throttle or clock down above 68-70C.

I would just try to raise the multiplier in 0.5x steps at standard voltage to get you going. You may find that the VRM temperatures on this motherboard will be the limiting factor.

4.2 - 4.4GHz should be possible before you need to raise voltages significantly. 4.5GHz is probably attainable. Good airflow in the area around the VRMs is a must.

Cheers another thing is core temp accurate as it reads completely different temps to the bios and the software that comes with the mobo
