OC i5 2500K, BSOD issues?

Hey all.

Was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers please, I only know the basics of overclocking etc, I brought a pre made bundle which was an i5 2500K stock 3.3Ghz overclocked to 4.5Ghz.

The system came with a H60 watercooler.

I have had it nearly 3 years now, and recently (usually playing microsoft flight simulator X) I am getting frequent BSODs.

Now, i have ran a few tests;

Firstly, I used FurMark to check my GPU, and it passed with no issues at all.

I then ran Prime95, On the ''blend'' test, and it crashed causing the BSOD in about 2 mins.

I took one of the RAM out to check, it did it again, then replaced with the other and it did it yet again.

I then put the stock profile on, and no issues arisen.

I have noticed recently that when i switch the PC on, it sometimes goes straight off again and usually restarts automatically (that may be of no relevance not sure).

So basically, I am stuck and really need some help if anyone has any ideas?

(My idle Vcore is around 1.176v)

Specs:

-Coolermaster 692 Advanced White gaming tower
-Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3Ghz stock Overclocked to 4.5Ghz (brought as pre made bundle at ************, tested etc.)
-Corsair H60 Watercooler
-GByte GA-P67A-D3-B3 MoBo
-8GB, 2x 4GB RAM
-1TB Samsung SATA HDD
-650w NZXT Hale Gold Modular PSU
-1024MB Gainward GTX 560 Ti Phantom.

Cheers, Adam

Snips,

Cheers mate. I take it this is defo CPU related then, Voltage perhaps?

So i need to increase my Vcore slightly correct?

Also i am in thinking of getting the hydro h100i water cooler, have heard this will be much better than my current H60.

Cheers

Ive gone into BIOS (MIT)

On the overclocked profile

My Vcore is 1.320v
DRAM voltage 1.536v
CPU temp 32 oc
BCLK 100.32MHz
CPU Frequency 4514 mhz
Memory Frequency 1605.18MHz
Memory Size 8192 MB

Ok,

at 100% the vcore in cpuz was 1.188v, and the cpu temp went upto around 67 degrees c, i stopped it then.

Do i need a new watercooler perhaps?? Is the CPU getting that hot that its causing the BSOD.... Im unsure

Do these look alright?

Hi postman

My question is why did cpuz show 1.188v at full load but in bios it said my vcore was 1.320v??

The idle vcore according to cpuz is 1.176v

Cheers

The readings in bios were in the MIT page at the bottom..

Cpuz defo shows different to what the page on MIT says for some reason..

I have ordered a new watercooler, ill add new as5 paste aswell, then either try an lower the mhz or try to increase the vcore... Do you think this is good idea?

Cheers
