I've got some free time coming up so i'm going to dabble in a little overlocking. i've read the guide in the sticky and am pretty sure i have everything down, but i just want to be sure. I'm going for something safe as my first attempt. Taking my CPU from 2.0ghz to 2.2ghz and keeping the RAM from overclocking (not sure what this RAM is capable of). So here we go...

1. Drop RAM to 166mhz (5/6 div)
2. Lower LDT to 4x
3. Gradually raise fsb to 220mhz

Is my math correct?

220x10=2200 CPU speed
220x4x2= 1760 HTT speed
220x5/6=183.3 DDR speed

Few other questions now. I've read about the PCI-E frequency rising along with the FSB. My current setting is Auto, should i set it to 100mhz?

Is my mobo any good for overclocking? I know it's not the best but will it fall over at the first hurdle?

If it fails to post what ammount should i up the Vcore to? 1.42-1.45v?

You should try and lock the PCI-E bus if possible at 100mhz at all times when possible.

Not sure about your M/B, try googling some reviews of it.

As for the v-core try overclocking on stock for as long as possible and if you do raise it do it in small incremental steps.

Thanks for the reply will3rd. Have i calculated the overclock correctly? Don't want to go with that and whack some insane clock on my CPU. :p

Just read up on my board and people are getting their 3000-3200's to 2.7ghz on air. Seems promising. Also read that the Vcore setting on my baord is set to auto, which ups itself when overclocking and is a bad thing. What is my default voltage on my chip?

Any other pointers would be helpful.

yeah the clock is correct, simple maths really

looks like you've got the rest covered, just keep an eye on the temps and you should be fine.

Thanks for all your help Will_3rd. Knowing that i have worked it out correctly and got it all covered has boosted my confidence. One thing that has stopped me from doing this sooner. :)
