hi all

done a bit of overclocking on my 2500k

i have i5 2500k/8gb ram/gigabyte z68AP-D3

couple of questions.

1. i can only get stable at 4.4ghz even after trying all of the settings which others have used with success.I have change volts up but didnt want to go too high as others dont seem to need to. do all chips oc the same?

2. at 4.4ghz it runs stable and at 58 degrees. Is this acceptable for that speed? I am a fan down on the top as it has broke already Antec are sending another asap.

3.I have Antec h2o 620 cooler im thinking of modding so i can put rad outside of case. What would i need? was thinking more tubing, reservoir, clamps.

Its been ten years since i built my last pc its been a steep curve again lol

thanks for the help guys

not all chips oc the same, some are better than others, depends how lucky you are with the chip you get, i can get 4.5 on 1.328v stable, i tried for 5ghz but it wouldn't boot with volts i was comfortable with, i could boot with 4.9 ant 1.4v but it was not at all stable

58c is fine, some say try to stay under 75c other say 70c while some say 80c, i think these chips don't start to throttle until somewhere in the 90c range

i have a 620 (replaced original fans though) and have it pulling air in from the outside now, i have 2 roof fans to exhaust, around the 1.35v range i get temps about 55c - 57c on prime blend and around 64c -65c on IBT
