What's the deal with the red "OC overclock" sticker on some boxes? It appears the part number is usually the same. I've read that it means it's factory overclocked. I assume this will affect the thermal and noise properties in which case can it be undone?

1) You can undo a factory overclock in WattMan or Afterburner, but if the card is sold as overclocked with a basic cooler then it probably isn't a big overclock and shouldn't impact thermals/noise much

2) The risk is there and best mitigated by buying from the members market (250 posts required) or a private seller rather than Gumtree, ebay etc. Also depends on the manufacturer. AMD GPUs were much more popular. Mining isn't necessarily a danger sign though - what's more important is how hard the card has been worked. A lot of miners undervolt their cards to save power and prolong lifespan.

I read it was 1000 posts for MM. And trust me I'd use that if it were an option any time in the next 5 years...
getting to the required posts isn't that hard. there's a plethora of sub forums on here. jump in a few and you'll be up to the required post count in no time.

Easier said than done, you gotta be careful because if you just start posting like a crazy man you'll get banned or posts deleted for "spam posting" to increase post count.

Look at my post count and I only average 4.29 posts per day!

I realise that but it is to possibly crank out the required volume any time soon.

I obviously don't want to fall into this trap either.
