hi
My PC:
MOBO=Asus P5N-e SLI
BIOS=0703
CPU=E6600 rev B2, big Zalman Copper (CNPS9500 AT)
CPU CORE VOLTAGE=1.328 (by setting auto bios overclocking to 10%)
CPU MULTIPLIER=9
CPU BUS SPEED=293Mhz
RAM=PC5300 Patriot 2GB (2x1Gb) DDR2 667MhZ Extreme Performance
RAM SETTINGS= 4-4-4-12
PSU=Thermaltake 600W PurePower RX ATX 12v 2.2
CASE=Antec Nine Hundred
GPU= 8800GT
OS=Vista 32

Using CPUZ, nTune, and Bois

Im only using the BIOS automatic OCing at the moment and im not getting far with the CPU OCing
i can clock it 15% and its stable, but when i OC the GPU o have to put the auto OC for CPU back to 10% for stability

Im overclocking the GPU with nTune settings
mobo PCI-E from 2500 oc to 2700
GPU core bus from 600 oc to 656
GPU memory bus from 900 oc to 1000

These GPU settings make a nice difference to games, but then i can only get my CPU up to 2637Mhz (or 10% in bios)

I havent really changed any Volts as i cant find a good enough guide

What i really need is some help about has anyone got any good guides or done this before with this setup.

Appreciate any help thanks
Simon

wow lots of info, interesting reading. if anyones got anything more specific to my setup that wouldbe great.
also, i can change the settings in bios or nTune, does it matter which?
nTune isnt keeping my settings st the mo, even if i save it as a profile, weird.

Stay away from nTune if you want to overclock, only use bios. You can also save up to 2 profiles via bios

well that info was great thanks, ive gone from 10788 in 3d mark to 11346
CPU now at about 2925mhz , i set vcore to 1.35, nb core to 1.56 and FSB (QDR) to 1300
CPU BUS SPEED 325

CPU temp under crysis load got to 37 and MB temp was at 35, is this ok? (using PC probe)
CPU 31 no load

cheers

ADMENDMENT...
Set a rule in ntune to load the profile on boot up

Temps? My e6300 runs at 1.6v on water.
Check load temps using Orthos then report back.
That MOBO needs 1.7v for a high FSB and then needs actively cooling.

Have a look at this thread on the P5N-E SLI Boards here at ocuk.

There are loads of tips to getting your e6600 to 3.4Ghz stable ;)

thanks tbh ive not got time to read 51 pages lol
i think ill stick with my 3.15ghz and 1350 fsb (qdr) for now (i upped the vcore a little more) temps seem fine, except pc probe II complains about mobo temp at 31 ( i think its over caucious)
thanks anyway

never tried Orthos, i might check it out

getting 11600 now in 3dmark
