Hi Guys,

so just been trying to overclock my 7970 and have been coming across a strange problem, I've been slowly increasing my core and memory clock and running heaven between each adjustment, I've been seeing slight improvements each time, maybe .3 or .4 of a frame until the pc crashes. when i reboot my pc i go back to afterburner, lower the clock slightly and re run heaven to check its stable and suddenly my results are a good 20fps better than the last stable test.

it seems like my adjustments aren't being applied properly until the pc reboots but has anyone else got any ideas?

im running an asus 7970 dc2t graphics card on windows 8 with heaven dx11 3.0 and using afterburner 2.3.1 to overclock.

Each time you test you should reboot to ensure consistency in runs. Rebooting as everyone knows clears RAM etc and allows your PC to run at optimal levels for bench marking.

Yeah!! Its essential to reboot for efficiency and consistency. No reboot how do you have consistency in results you could be comparing the fourth run before it crashed one time to the tenth run the next.
