Hi all, i have the following:
q9550 c1
Asus p5q-e
2 gigs corsair cm2x1024 6400 ram
Tuniq tower (the big one)

I have set the cpu to 8.5 multi, fsb to 400 and the ram to 400 also gives me 3.4 gigs temps with core temp under load dont go above 48 and it seams stable no crashing ect, the v core was set itself at 1.296v is this voltage ok? does anyone no the max on the q9550.

Bye,

Ian...

Yeah, my P5Q-Pro increases the voltage to that automatically when my Q9550 is overclocked to 3.4Ghz.

If that is your load temp its much lower than mines so all is good with yours.

as yoyo50 said Intel say max is 1.4V.
3.6Ghz is quite doable at about 1.3V, my Q9550 needed a big jump to get to 3.8 and could only get stable at 4Ghz at above 1.4V :(
A few on here have got 4Ghz on 1.36V with the C1 revision, its defiantly worth pushing a bit, most C1 on P5Q boards will hit 3.8, and the temps you have gt are good :)

Hi all, been playing, my o/c to 3.4 bombed out after a re boot yet was stable through all the stress tests ect, spect i need to increase a voltage or something, anyway i have gone the other way now and reduced the vid to 1.112v and droped the overclock to 3.060.4, 360 bus speed and fsb to 1440.2 temps have gone down to 39 under load (highest on the 4 cores) and have re booted and no probs. I might try and see how low i can go on the vid just out of interest, i have set the voltage for the memory at 1.9 as that what Corsairs site says.

Bye,

Ian...

mines the same cpu and same clock set to 400x8.5 running 3.4 temps are max 50 on full load but but sit around 48 most of the time on full load and is stable now trying 444x8.5 3.77 playing with volts to get it stable.

Hi all, can get the cpu voltage down to 1.08v and it will do 3.2 gigs stable on that but i have a problem when i try 3.4gigs, i have only changed the vcore as low as 1.08v and up to the default volts the motherboard uses that is 2.1v and once i do that the computer will run stress tests play games works great even on the lower 1.08v but when i shutdown the pc and switch off the mains when i restart it it switches on for about 5secs then switches off then back on and boots up, does not do this on other overclocks so wondered if anyone could tell me anything to fix this maybe i need to alter other settings ect.

Mine needs a big jump in voltage from 3.75Ghz and 3.8Ghz. Have settled mine at 3.75Ghz so that all the temps/voltages are safe. Have the C1 revision, and have it stable at 1.275V!

Hi all, with a Asus p5q-e can anyone tell me after they overclock then shut the pc off and switch the mains off when they switch the pc on again do you notice that the computer comes on for about 5 secs then powers off then back on again only if ac is switched off, overclock still runs fine but just want to see if this is the norm.

Mines does this also! its more like 1-2 seconds though.

Hi Golfbrian, thanks for the reply and yes prob is only about 1-2 seconds, it only does it with a overclock though if i leave it at default it does not do it very strange. I have emailed Asus support see if they have a answer, just want to make sure its not a problem.

Hi all, got a reply from Asus and it is as it should be, its to protect against a bad overclock, so i am happy and i have my pc at 3.4gigs at a vid of 1.5 temps under load dont go above 44 (core temp) think i can still go higher as i have not had any stability probs except when i tried a vid of think it was .8 the lowest i could select. Happy new year to all.

got mine running at 3.83, 1000 over stock and memory at 1083 which is just over stock vcore is at 1.36v but will lower that a bit. max temp was 63 but 59 most of the time during prime95 for 2 hours, no errors.

Hi all, to Mr diesel in side nice overclock but vcore at 3.6v whats the max voltage for the q9550? on my motherboard it says in bios 2.1v max unless u fit a jumper to allow to go over that.
