Hello,Iv had my rig OC'd since the day I built it

GA-P35-DS3R
E2180

But just today I was having a bit of a problem with the PC not posting so after a lot of messing about I decided to try and clear the CMOS,this didnt seem to work but eventually I got it to post.So to my problem after booting into windows I see that the CPU has reverted back to its stock speed(2ghz)so I went into the bios to alter some settings but now matter what I change after saving and exiting Im back to stock speeds, its seems the OC's setting will not save to bios. Can the bios battery be dead, but I thought if the battery died the PC wouldnt boot at all?

well one theory is to take the battrie out of your motherboard, and lick it.
if the battrie starts to burn your tounge slightly at first then stronger the longer you hold your tounge on it..

then you know your battrie isnt dead.

the stronger the burning sensation is the more power is left in the battrie :P

After some checking I have noticed that actually SOME settings do save.If i set the CPU Clock Ratio it saves to whatever BUT when I set the CPU host Frequency it doesnt save it just saves Clock Ratio?

Seems for some reason I had to give the Vcore a wee bit more juice?

Could it be that your chip is just getting old? i mean if you have clocked it since day one, then maybe wear and tear is starting to take effect and it does just need a bit more juice now to hit the same speeds?
