for any passerbys..

know of any cheap (for a personal/hobby website) host that offers ssh access - i wanna run my own irc bouncer and ventrilo servers..

decided to type here rather than new thread because its not immediately necessary, nor have i done enough research myself yet :)

I think you might be better off with a separate hosting provider for your website and a gaming/shell provider for the other requirements.

Lots of webhosting providers will give you SSH access to modify your files, run an rsync, cvs etc but I would be surprised if anyone reputable will let you run IRC bouncers and voice servers on a webhosting server.

ah, thanks for the info.. didnt realise it would work like that

off to the bat-mobile for more research :D

Been having a lot of billing problems with Streamlinenet.co.uk recently. They have been charging money from my debit card without authorisation for renewals that have already been paid for.

Needless to say I'm not impressed with this. It was fine when I just had one domain and one hosting package, but since trying to manage several domain names under one account, it has become quite messy.

They have been fairly prompt in fixing problems but it is frustrating. Just wondered if anyone else had similiar issues.

I am trying to decide between Tsohost and Dreamhost, I'm looking at their top packages with plenty of bandwidth. However,, I have seen in other places on the net that Dreamhost has let people down.

Any opinions appreciated.

I was going to go with TSOHost, the only thing going against it is the limited websites and the cost for extra domains!

Looking at register1 but do they use cPanel and have a limit on number of domains hosted?

Been with Godaddy for a while and while their space/bandwidth is great the website is just crap to get around and Im fed up

After reading on here and talking to a few people, I went with Vidahost, the package suited me better than the TSOhost one of a similar price.

I'm very impressed! My sites never been down yet as far as i know, it always loads fast, prices are good, and had no reason to contact their techy team yet, who I'm told are brilliant to deal with.

Highly recommended.

I'm a retard and added my own website instead of the hosting company.

I thought I had to register before I could submit one.

Can someone delete Mc2gd.com from the list? Can they also add the name 'Freezone' to the other one I just created.

I shouldn't be allowed near that thing when I'm so angry.

Thanks.
