My m8s was thinking of getting the Ultima SLi (AMD Athlon 64 4000 Dual DDR System), do you reckon if I was polite they would change the CPU into the AMD 4400 and make the hard drive bigger?

Full Systems

No harm in asking, a Don may see this and reply but a quicker reply would be to use the Support link on the main page. There is a pre-sales enquiry option.

Not bad but can definatly get better for the money.

SLI imo it disapointing and getting a ATI 1900XT system is a much better Value option.

agreed. it has more to offers as the benefits of SLi and crossfire dont seem lage enough as of yet. when we see 2 cards working at 100% of their capacity, it will become truly useful, but until then single cards are the way to go.

Crossfire appears to work very well and as such is a viable option. SLI doesn't work with all software and is OS dependant ( doesn't work under 2K for instance ).

Alright then I send them a message. What do you guys then of it, good value for money or outdated?.

You could get much better specs for the money if you build it yourself. SLI is pretty inefficient and wasteful imo, there is no reason whatsoever not to be spending £345 on an ATI X1900 now as they are widely available and stupidly powerful.

It's a nice rig, but I personally wouldn't compromise spec just for the convenience of having someone build it for me. :)

As quoted you wil get a lot better spec for the money

Just by way of comparision. Taken the spec of the OcUK pre-built, changed Mobo, CPU and Graphics.. end result better performing system for the SAME price :).

Putting a PC together isn't that hard and worth it when you look at the effective savings.
