Hi all and thanks for looking.
i`m thinking of buying the "Ultima Crossfire X1900 XT" Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 2.40GHz Dual Core DDR2 System from OC, with the akasa case. Its been quite a while since i built / upgraded my current rig ( p4 3gig, ati 9800 ), so i have decided to buy all new parts. I`ve been reading the forums for a while and it seems that i would probably be better off getting a better cpu fan than the stock one that comes with this. It looks like the zalman 9500 or the artic freezer is the way to go, wiith me probably going with the zalman. Although the system, all in all, is going to run out around £2000, i am able to also upgrade any of the components, if its going to make enough difference to warrant the price. ( eg, E6700 ) I`d like a pre built system, and i presume oc would change any of the components i would like to ?
I`m going to be mainly using the new system for games and some encoding / decoding and a little video editing.
From reading the forums, the overclocking of core2duo seems to be very good, looking at other peoples specs. I have only dabbled in oc`ing years ago, so i am a complete noob when it comes to this, but i would like to give it a go when the system is up and running ok.
Has anyone got any thoughts on the value for money for this system, the components, or any other advice you feel i should know. THANKS.
