Hi looking at buying i5 750 and oc it i know it easily reaches 4ghz but what about with 8gb of ram installed can it still reach 4 and would you have to mess about with voltages, timings etc or is 8 gb overkill using for gaming
8 gig is overkill for gameing
also I7`s have there memory controllers onboard so i cant see there being any issues you encounter when installing 8gig unless the motherboard isnt premium.
cheers thought 8gb may be overkill but the techno snob in me wants it lol if i do ever get 8gb will a i5 750 still hit 4ghz on a gigabyte ga p55a ud3 mobo
i dont see why not
put it this way it wont be the cpu that lets you down. it will be your other components when its comes to memory.
also make sure you have good cooling as that will help aswell.
