How high can I expect to get this on air?

Failry new to this but think i know what i'm doing.

I've got it up to 1.82 so far (up from 1.8 lol)

Thanks for any help.

Got mine at 200 x 10, which was decent enough at the time.

What motherboard / memory / cooling are you using?

With an Abit NF7-S and a decent Thermalright cooler it would probably do 2.0ghz :)

I'm using an Asrock mobo (it was an urgent replacent)

Err, 3x256 Ram, 2 are the same brand 1 is different.

A cooler right (i think) cooler, its pretty big. Temps are about 40 C

I had an XP2200 when they were first released. At the time it was running in an Abit At7 Max2. The best clock i could get out of it 1950mhz. As i recall it ran very hot, so good cpu cooling is a must.

You won't get much out of any 2200+

They all use the palomino core, runs very hot gets rubbish clocks.

You'll need a "Thorobred" core to get anything decent - most 2100+ chips can do 2300-2600mhz with a good air cooler.

You are very unlikely to get more than 2000mhz out of it - if that.

Your ram config is also not going to help matters and I would guess that it isn't more than DDR400 by the way you've explained things.

I'm fairly sure that mine was a thoroughbred, an "A" revision.

I eventually changed it to a thoroughbred B Core XP2100+, which did 220 x 11 :D
