1 x MSI GeForce GTX 670 OC Twin Frozr Power Edition 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with FREE Borderlands 2 & Assassin's Creed III PC Games (N670GTX PE 2GD5/OC) £335.99
Total : £707.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

£25 difference from the 670 to the 680 - the gap was a lot closer but it seems the 680 has now gone back up by £10-£15, typical!

I know lots of you will be saying "n00b get the 7950" but two things put me off there;
The need to overclock (quite hard?) to get 670 performance - i dont really want to mess around with OC'ing to be honest
The recent bad batch of MSIs which ran like ovens - over exagerration i know but enough to put me off

I have to say that the 670 does sound pretty sweet, reviews online seem to suggest it runs pretty silent

Which one would you go for and why? :)

You got a good point. But I think now with the new amd drivers a 7950 is on par with a 670 even if not overclocked . So that is entirely up to you if you want to fork out the big difference in price between the 670 and 7950. As for the batch of msi you don't have to chose msi you can get the wf3. I got one msi last 2 weeks, guess I was lucky with mine!

However, out of your choice I would chose the 680. The. 25 pound difference is beer money, a measly night outs worth.

Hopefully I'll let you know about the reference 680 on Friday. Can't really compare it to the 670 since mine was quickly returned due to whine (not coil) and was a reference. :)

For the sake of £25 i would go for the 680, but then again if it were my money being spent then the 7970 is what i would be spending on

With a 1202Mhz GPU/1502Mhz mem clock out of the box, this is an attractive buy if your budget allows. If it is too expensive, the 680 TF is a good card :)

Crikey greg, you trying to bankrupt me?

Looks a nice card though - the past few days I have been telling myself its worth it to go "that bit extra" and spend £300 or so, then you drop that one in lol

That would be great if you could, thanks :)

Just so you all now - missed this off the first post - I game on a single monitor and currently at 1080p, although the idea with this purchase would be to not only run smooth as silk at 1080p but also future proof to the next move up in resolution, whenever that will be

I'm also currently running a 6850 at present so I expect this will be quite a jump in performance!

lol fair point but felt if your budget allowed, this card is the best 680 going.

Back on track....The 680 is overpriced, as is the 670 IMO and the 7950 is the best price per performance card currently out however if you are wanting to go 'Team Green' and stay under £300, KFA2 are a good choice. They are UK based and have a decent reputation.

You could sell the games to lower costs (I am watching the MM for AC3 :)).
