i have 3x 2gb ocz reaper 1866 memory here from my
i7 setup.
im buying a sandy bridge setup and only uses dual channel.
can i use 2 sticks from my tri channel setup on the sandy bridge.

Yes - you can use two of your sticks and it will work fine in dual channel mode.

If you feel you need more than 4GB RAM, then I would suggest buying a high-density kit like this and sell your triple channel kit on the MM. You won't lose much money and gain a bit more RAM overall.
