Hrm seems a bit weird this... I'm getting occasional lockups lately.

Gigabyte 965P-DS3, 2GB Geil Kit (2x1GB) PC6400, E6300...
I've got a Western Digital Caviar SATA Drive

The HDD access light comes on, stays solid and the computer locks up completely, requiring a reboot. I'm not sure if it's just worth doing a reinstall as it's only just started happening.

Scandisk shows nothing and the event log shows nothing either... any ideas off the top of your well informed heads? :) As the HDD Light stays on I'm thinking it must be something to do with some I/O request going wrong and freezing the OS?

Do you find that sometimes your boot time is a lot longer than normal? - I'm currently getting similar symptoms - I've memtested ok and am thinking about using a different hard drive (just 'cos I have a spare)

Hrm I'll give memtest a go. I took everything down to stock a while ago as my HSF isn't performing that well and at the moment I can't be bothered to rip the thing apart to install a Tuniq Tower.

While doing some housekeeping I realised I'd not defragged for a while and my C drive was 47% fragmented...

Cheers guys :)
